WHITE WEDNESDAY

I'm joining everyone at Faded Charm again today for White Wednesday.

I have been working on my grandma's room for quite awhile. It's finally taking shape. I thought I would spot light a few things. My first piece of furniture that I bought from Aunt Elsie's was a charming desk with a long drawer and a chunky mirror. I've refinished them in a Cottage White. I found a cool metal, white vintage looking curtain rod. Then I hung some white, with tiny rose buds, panels that tie at the top. On the desk you can see the candle st ix I painted pink and antiqued. My first milk glass purchase from Aunt Elsie's is that neat lamp. I purchased a new shade that matches my carpet and the antique chair from Aunt Elsie's. A few other things on the desk are that antique metal standing mirror, a darling white cup and saucer.

Of course, on the grandma's room desk, are little pictures of my granddaughters great grandma's and great great grandma's. I have more pictures coming so we have all the grandmas, great and great great! Whew, that's a mouth full.

In case you wondering what that wonderful thing is draped over the chair -- it's a table cloth that my grandmother crocheted.

Mothers day is coming and we are getting ready for it in the shop. We just received 80 hand crocheted dish cloths in all colors. We have paired a dish cloth or (wash cloth) up with a delicious smelling bar of hand made, allergy free, hand soap, wrapped it sweet and there you have it, a wonderful mothers day gift. OR we can take an antique saucer with a bar of hand soap. Which ever you desire, it makes a beautiful gift.

We have also received more of our gorgeous framed pictures of and old old knob on a temple. So cool! Or, the temple itself.

Come on in, your sure to find that special something for your special mom.

WHITE WEDNESDAY WITH FADED CHARM

I have spent some time last week-end with my two oldest granddaughters, we spend the day at Gardner Village shopping and lunching. Then we came to my house for new paper dolls, smoothies, refinishing things for our vintage grandma's room. Of course we had our normal tea party and movies and treats and sleep over. WOW BABY, grandma's worn out!

I had my camera, of course, and along the way I was thinking about White Wednesday. My pictures today are very simple. They are the whites that gave me the most joy.

A large wash bowl.
A small cup full of popcorn balls off of the apricot tree that Kacie made.
My beautiful daughter-in-law in her wedding dress, posing outside of the Bountiful Temple. The fellow in the back there is my son Clint.
A few of the white boxes filled with blankets, that we sent to the orphanage's in Hatti.
And of course, our resident duck at the shoppe. As we visited Saturday, the Duck was up on our porch, just chirping away.

I can't wait to be able to visit you and see your sweet whites.

BIG HUGS TO EVERYONE
CINDY

Antiue bed and hangers

It's starting to become real. The before and after headboard and foot board. I love the new color, it's a creamy antique white called "Cottage White, from Home Depot.

I painted some cedar hangers today and put a little fancy on them. One is baby pink the other is a soft green.

Before I show you the night stand I want to put some antiquing on it. I need to go to Home Depot and find something to use. I'm open for suggestions.

WHITE WEDNESDAY WITH FACED CHARM

I had been in St George all last week and I missed going in the shop. When I went in Monday I saw that some very nice refurbished furniture had come. A man finds slightly damaged furniture and strips it and refinishes it and the hardware. It just happens to be in the white family, so I'll blog about them. They are just slightly vintage, very well done. Something I would be proud to own and their at a very good price. There are a couple of night stands, a desk, a couple chest of drawers, and a table with 4 chairs. Later today he brought in two different wood chairs. I didn't get their pictures, but their very sturdy. If your interested, come in and see them.
